Commodity prices in Egypt to be reduced on Saturday at the latest: PM

The prices of seven major groups of commodities will be reduced by rates ranging from 15 percent to 25 percent by Saturday at the latest, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced during a press conference on Monday.

The prices for several of these commodities have already fallen since Monday, he added.

The price of the commodity will be written on all products, he pointed out.

These commodities include beans, lentils, dairy products, pasta, sugar, cooking oil, and rice, Madbouly said, explaining that in addition an agreement was reached with the Poultry and Egg Producers Union to provide a 15 percent discount on live and frozen poultry and eggs.
