Twenty-five MPs have filed a complaint with Parliament Speaker Ali Abdelaal about the circulation of a pornographic video on a Whatsapp group between MPs.
They expressed their shock that Monufiya MP Ossama Sharshar had uploaded a pornographic video and sent it to the group on the mobile messaging application, Whatsapp, and they called for investigations into the incident.
The MPs behind the complaint included Mostafa Bakry, Mohamed Fayoumy, Hesham Magdy, Maged Toubia, Yehia al-Kedwany and Mohga Ghaleb.
Sharshar denied sending the video and filed a claim with the public prosecution saying his Whatsapp account had been hacked by an anonymous user who sent an offensive video to other MPs at 1:30 pm on Monday.
"There are schemes at foot and scenarios being contrived to discredit honorable, upright MPs who work to defend the poor, freedom of opinion and expression, and the profession of journalism," Sharshar said in a press statement.
"Despite the war on us, we honorable MPs will continue to defend the people and will continue to battle moral and financial corruption," he asserted.
"The video was allegedly of MP Khaled Youssef, who I completely respect, and was sent from my hacked account," Sharshar said.
