Constituent Assembly Secretary General Amr Darrag warned that fake copies of the draft constitution were being circulated in libraries, metro stations and on the Internet.
In a press conference held Tuesday at the Shura Council, Darrag said, “Those copies include untrue articles. One of them claims the president has the authority to cede some of Egypt’s land.”
The only real copy of the constitution is the one on the Constituent Assembly’s website, which is signed by assembly head Hossam al-Gheriany, he said.
Darrag called on media channels and the assembly members to play a role in introducing the constitution. Reportedly there would be several TV shows aired on the Sout al-Shaab TV channel.
The assembly’s work will end once constitutional referendum is over, Darrag added.
