Culture Minister Helmy al-Namnam inaugurated the 8th session of the International Samaa' Festival for Spiritual Music and Chanting on Sunday.
Planning Minister Ashraf al-Araby and the Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou attended the event. Despite sponsoring the event, the ministers of antiquities and youth did not attend.
The festival, which includes participants from 14 countries, is scheduled to continue until September 27. Algeria is the guest of honor this year to commemorate the Algerian revolution, which liberated the country from French occupation, according to Namnam.
