Dar al-Ifta announced the sighting of the crescent moon of Dhu al-Hijjah for the year 1447 AH, after observing the crescent on Sunday evening by its Sharia and scientific committees deployed throughout the country.
In an official statement, Dar al-Ifta announced that Monday, May 18, 2026, is the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah for the year 1447 AH, and that Eid al-Adha for the year 1447 AH will be on May 27, with the Day of Arafah on May 26.
Seven countries also announced that Monday is the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah, with the Day of Arafah on Tuesday, May 26, and Wednesday, May 27, being the first day of Eid al-Adha.
