Minya Criminal Court sentenced on Thursday a defendant who raped a child in 2016 in Maghagha, Minya, to 10 years rigorous imprisonment.
The prosecutor accused the defendant Rifaat Mostafa al-Suweify, a 42-year-old laborer, of raping 14-year-old Mayada Mohamed Hashim, known as Mayada Hennawy.
The court listened to the lawyer of the accused, and saw forensic reports stating that the defendant touched the victim and parts of her body at the site of the ditch and violated the sanctity of others by defrauding the girl, which were confirmed by investigations of the Criminal Investigation Department at Maghagha police department.
The forensic medical report along with police investigations confirmed that the defendant raped the child.
