The Follow-up and Escalation Committee of the Democratic Coalition, which is led by the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, is meeting on Sunday to discuss ways of responding to the constitutional principles document proposed by Deputy Prime Minister Ali al-Selmy.
“We will invite the political forces and presidential candidates who were against the document to the meeting,” said committee president Wahid Abdel Meguid.
He added that the committee is awaiting the result of the cabinet’s Saturday meeting before deciding whether to attend a million-man demonstration planned for 18 November, demanding the handing handing over of power to a civil authority by 30 April 2012.
