Egypt’s Doctors' Syndicate urged the international community to take “immediate action” against what it described as Israeli violations against the holy Islamic Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
In a statement on Wednesday, the syndicate denounced “Israeli assaults against Al-Aqsa Mosque”, referring to Islam’s third holiest site that is also claimed by Jews as the site of an ancient Jewish temple. It added that “Islamic and Christian holy spots are a genuine part of Jerusalem, the capital of the Palestinian state”.
At least 70 Palestinians and 11 Israelis have been killed in violence that erupted following Israeli settlers attempts to invade the mosque in early October.
