Easter skyrockets hotel occupancy in Hurghada and Marsa Alam

Hotels and tourist villages in the cities of Hurghada and Marsa Alam witnessed a noticeable increase in the percentage of occupancy due to the presence of European tourists.

The most prominent aspect of the European Easter celebration is the increase in the number of children accompanying their families from tourists.

Thousands of European families are keen to spend Easter holiday outside their country as a family.

Tourism experts in the Red Sea revealed that the tourist resorts in the cities of Hurghada and Marsa Alam witnessed a noticeable increase in the percentage of occupancy from foreign tourism during the month of April.

This is compared to the rest of the months of this year, coinciding with the celebrations of the spring holidays and Sham el-Nessim.

Mahmoud Awny, reservation manager at a hotel, said that confirmed reservations ranged between 50 and 60 percent, with Hurghada receiving tourists from about 20 different nationalities, and that it had become the most prominent destination for Polish, Romanian and German tourists to spend the Easter and spring celebrations.

Tourists of different nationalities celebrated in Marsa Alam and Hurghada hotels in the Red Sea, where the hotels served Easter special foods and colored eggs on the main buffet of restaurants, amid the exchange of congratulations between foreign tourists and hotel workers.
