Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on Friday discussed in a meeting with his Cape Verdean counterpart Filomena Gonçalves ways of fostering joint cooperation in the health sector.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Global Congress on Population, Health and Development (PHDC 2023), which is held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The conference runs from September 5 to 8.
During the meeting, Abdel Ghaffar highlighted Sisi’s directives to provide all necessary support to African countries to bolster their health systems, a matter which contributes to offering the best medical services and achieving health security for African peoples.
The two ministers probed the possibility of training Cape Verdean medical teams and paramedics to harness their skills.
The Cape Verdean health minister and her accompanying delegation visited Ma’had Nasser Hospital of the Nasser Medical Institute in Cairo to explore cooperation between the national medical edifice and specialized health facilities in the her country.
