
Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, Monday, June 8, 2026, discussed the latest regional developments during a phone call with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.
The call falls within the framework of ongoing consultations between the two friendly countries aimed at exchanging views on regional developments and exploring ways to reduce tensions across the region.
During the conversation, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts to contain the escalation in the region, stressing Egypt’s support for the negotiation track between the US and Iran and its commitment to easing tensions and enhancing prospects for reaching diplomatic solutions to the crisis.
The two top diplomats exchanged views and assessments regarding the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
They agreed to continue close coordination and consultations within the framework of the strategic relations between Egypt and France, along with working jointly to reduce tensions and support security and stability in the region.
