Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and Egyptian Ambassador in Athens Omar Amer asserted the importance of strategic relations between the two countries.
This came during the Greek diplomat’s welcoming of the Egyptian ambassador in Athens earlier in the day.
A statement on the Foreign Ministry’s Facebook page said the two sides underlined the importance of intensifying their efforts to open new horizons for cooperation, especially in energy, gas and power linkage projects that will allow Egypt to transfer energy to European countries via Greece.
They also discussed the current international and regional developments, especially in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, as well as means of coordinating stances and visions between the two countries regarding issues of common interest.
