Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat on Monday inaugurated the “Drive Thru” post office in Nasr City, the first branch of a new generation of drive-through post offices.

Equipped with state-of-the-art systems, the new office allows citizens to obtain Digital Egypt services and integrated government, financial and postal services without ever having to leave their cars.

Talaat said this Drive Thru post office in Nasr City is the first of its kind in Egypt.

The office provides postal and financial services, as well as government services provided by the Post Office in cooperation with other government agencies, he explained, such as notary offices and the traffic department.

He added that that this office represents a qualitative shift in providing better services to all citizens.

The Drive Thru post office is located on an area of 2000 square meters, with seven windows to provide government, financial, postal services, and Digital Egypt services such as paying traffic fines, electricity, water, and gas bills.

It also has services to disburse pensions, current account services, local and international transfers, correspondence and parcel services, and express mail services, postal savings services, and landline bill payment services.

The office is equipped with two ATM machines, in addition to the latest surveillance systems, fire and theft alarms, and a UPS device.

The office operates 24 hours a day from Saturday to Thursday, and on Friday from two to nine pm.
