Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad discussed on Friday 20/10/2023 with her Iraqi counterpart Nizar Amedi means of fostering cooperation in a number of environment-related fields, especially that of climate changes.
The meeting was held on the fringes of the 9th Conference of Environment Ministers in the Islamic World, organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
The event is held under the theme “Toward Achieving Green Transformation in the Islamic World”.
During the meeting, Fouad stressed that climate action requires joining efforts noting in this regard that Egypt can assist in capacity building and institutional development.
Minister Fouad proposed that Iraq set its climate action priorities, work on forming a working group from the two countries, and identify points of contact from both sides to discuss climate and green transformation topics.
