Egypt, Italy to establish high-tech center for marble, granite

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal held a meeting on Thursday with the Ambassador of Italy to Egypt Giampaolo Cantini, economic and commercial consultant Pietro Tombachini, and representative of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Felice Longobardi to discuss the Italian government’s support for the establishment of a high-tech center for marble and granite in the Shak al-Thoban industrial area in Cairo.

Abdel Aal said that the government has taken measures aimed at preserving the rights of investors and facilitating trade between the two countries.

He also stated that the Egyptian and Italian governments agreed on establishing a factory for recycling marble wastes in addition to a port and a logistics area in the Shak al-Thoban area of Cairo.
