The Egyptian Consulate in Dubai has launched an emergency repatriation plan for citizens seeking to return home amidst the widespread disruption of regional air travel.
With several airspaces impacted by the ongoing military escalation, authorities have established a land-and-air corridor through the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Exceptional visa entry
Under a new bilateral arrangement, Saudi authorities are granting “emergency entry visas” to Egyptian nationals traveling by land from neighboring countries.
This exceptional measure allows citizens currently in the UAE to cross into Saudi territory to catch flights to Egypt from major Saudi hubs, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina.
Simplified procedures
The Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh confirmed that these visas are being issued directly at Saudi land border crossings, removing the need for prior administrative processing.
The move is designed to bypass the current gridlock in regional aviation by utilizing Saudi Arabia’s operational airports as a bridge back to Egypt.
Registration and logistics
The Consulate General in Dubai has opened an online registration portal to track and assist those opting for the land route.
Stranded nationals are urged to submit their data via the official link to facilitate their passage and ensure coordination with border authorities.
