Egypt’s core inflation decreases to 5.61% in August: Central bank

Egypt's core annual inflation rate dropped to 5.61 percent in August, down from 6.49 percent in July, the central bank said on Thursday.
 
Inflation spiked in Egypt after the government slashed subsidies in July 2014, pushing up fuel prices by as much as 78 percent.
