The Egyptian stock exchange on Sunday closed in the red for the third consecutive session as a result of profit-taking.
The EGX30 Index closed, down by 0.51 percent, recording 9,373.17 points on a total turnover of LE535 million.
Meanwhile, market capitalization gained LE4.35 billion (US$604 million) to close at LE523.9 billion as a result of the rise in some heavy-weight shares.
The broader index EGX70 jumped 1.75 percent to 628.74 points, EGX100 climbed 0.83 percent to 1,135.75 points.

Foreign and local institutions were net sellers throughout the session recording LE 5.66 million and LE2.03 million respectively.
The most active stock in the index was Orascom Telecom Media and Technology, which continued to lead the market in terms of turnover, recording LE120.77 million.
Telecom Egypt was among the most active stocks list in terms of turnover recording LE21.32 million, gaining 1.08 percent to close at a share price of LE14.92.
