Egypt to issue commemorative silver coins in denominations of LE20 and LE50

The Egyptian Cabinet has approved the authorization of the Minister of Finance to issue non-circulating commemorative pure silver coins in denominations of LE20-50, featuring a design commemorating the 70th anniversary of the first circulating national currency minted by the Treasury and Minting Authority.

They are not legal tender and are intended for collectors only.

The Egyptian Cabinet also approved the minting of new circulating coins in denominations of one Egyptian pound and half an Egyptian pound.
The minting will be carried out by the Public Treasury and Minting Authority in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt, which will approve the issuance of these coins.
