A sandstorm passing through several regions in the Middle East has not affected Egypt, a spokesperson for the Egyptian Meteorological Authority said Wednesday.
Wahid Seoudi said Egypt is instead witnessing “suspended impurities” that blur the vision, adding that the situation will end by Wednesday.
His comments come after Suez closed four of its seaports over strong dust storms.
According to Seoudi, Egypt has witnessed a remarkable surge in humidity which has reached 90 percent. He expects it to last for the next five days.
Sandstorms killed eight in Syria and Lebanon on Tuesday.
