The sector of healthcare and drugs is one of the most important investment domains currently prioritized by the state, Investment Minister Hassan al-Khatib said.
The minister’s remarks came on Saturday 14/12/2024 during a virtual meeting with US Ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg in the presence of more than 60 participants, including over 40 US companies operating in 27 states.
They reviewed investment opportunities in the Egyptian market in fields of healthcare and medicine.
The minister said the government works on doubling hospital beds from 142,000 to 300,000, in addition to backing the private sector investments under the universal health insurance system.
He also highlighted the state’s efforts on attracting foreign investments with the development of infrastructure projects and the inking of major trade deals with different countries.
For her part, Garg underlined the importance of economic partnership between her country and Egypt, noting that the healthcare sector offers promising investment opportunities worth $30-40 billion by 2025.
