Egyptian Meteorological Authority warns more sand storms to hit Egypt

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced the weather forecast from Sunday until Friday, with satellite maps indicating that the country will continue to suffer severe dust storms, due to a Khamaseen depression affecting the country accompanied by winds blowing up dust.

An EMA statement said that the weather on Saturday witnessed a decrease in temperatures after a heat wave in the past hours.

It expected that the country will witness moderate temperatures north of Egypt and Greater Cairo, and temperatures will be between 34C-35C, but a heat wave will continue to dominate the southern part of the country.

Meteorologists advised not to be exposed to direct sunlight, drink plenty of cool fluids and water, wear loose and cotton clothes, and sit in well-ventilated places.

Sunday’s weather forecast

Moderate weather will prevail in the early morning, hot during the day in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, moderately hot on the northern coasts, very hot in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, and moderate in all parts of the country.

Meteorologists warned of mist on Sunday which will spread on highways, agricultural roads, and those close to water bodies, Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.

The EMA called on motorists to exercise caution when driving, adhere to speed limits, and slow down due to low visibility on some roads.

Satellites showed intermittent wind activity in areas of Greater Cairo, South Sinai, and the south of the country.

Rainfall will be present on the northeastern coasts, the Gulf of Suez, South Sinai, and the southern parts of the country, at intermittent intervals.

Temperatures on Sunday:
