Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held talks on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting on Jerusalem, held in Jordan’s capital, Amman.
The two ministers praised the depth of Egyptian-Qatari relations and stressed the importance of preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Egyptian-Qatari Joint Higher Committee, scheduled to be held in the city of El Alamein on Aug. 20, in a move aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation.
They also discussed regional developments, stressing the importance of ending the war and de-escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, while preserving energy security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip following the announcement of a roadmap to complete the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
The two sides stressed the importance of continued coordination between Egypt, Qatar, and Arab and Islamic countries, as well as Israel’s fulfillment of its commitments, paving the way for moving to the second phase of the plan’s implementation.
