Egypt’s ambassador in Dakar Khaled Aref stressed Cairo’s keenness on enhancing bilateral cooperation with Senegal, especially in the fields of defense and combating terrorism.
He was speaking during a meeting Monday with Senegalese Minister of Defense Birame Diop, who praised the great development and progress witnessed by the Egyptian Armed Forces, voicing aspiration to deepen joint cooperation and transfer Egyptian expertise in the military field to his country, as the Senegalese new government is working to achieve Senegal’s sovereignty in the fields of defense, military industries, agriculture and health.
The Senegalese minister also expressed his admiration for achievements of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ National Service Projects Organization, that highly contributed to supporting the national economy, expressing his desire to benefit from this pioneering experience to establish a similar model in his country.
He also affirmed deep belief in the role of the military institution in the development process, as well as its contribution to major ventures.
