Egypt’s cold weather expected to subside by Friday

Egypt’s meteorological authority revealed that cold weather across the country will continue through Thursday, with the peak drop in temperatures occurring then.

Winds will remain strong, stirring sand in Upper Egypt.

The authority on Thursday said that winds over the Mediterranean on Wednesday reached a speed of 45 knots, leading to a significant rise in the waves.

Thick clouds bringing heavy rains along the north coast are expected to diminish as they advance inland over Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

The high in Cairo on Thursday is 16C, while the nighttime temperature could drop to 10C.

Temperatures are forecast to rise by 3 degrees Celsius starting Friday, but nighttime temperatures will stay in the single digits throughout the weekend.
