Egypt’s consul general hails historic relations with France

Egypt’s Consul General in Marseille Haidy Serry hailed historic relations between Egypt and France.

She highlighted the current fruitful cooperation between Alexandria governorate and the southern French port city in several domains.

The consul general was addressing a reception organized by Egypt’s Consulate General in Marseille to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the 23rd July Revolution.

Serry reviewed Egypt’s remarkable civilization leap, in particular as regards the the social and economic initiatives.

She spoke about the Egypt-EU investment conference and the agreements and memorandum of understanding signed during the event, at a total value of 49 billion euros.

The consul general said that forum followed declaring elevating the relationship between Egypt and the EU to the level of strategic partnership.

During her speech, Serry sent a message to the Egyptian community expounding the philosophy behind the merge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Emigration and Expatriates Affairs, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

She added that the merge of reflects the special importance attached by the Foreign Ministry to files prioritized by Egyptian citizens, locally or abroad, the ministry added.

The ceremony was attended by a host of officials and consul generals accredited to south France.
