Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta joins Al-Azhar’s annual Quran Recitation Day

Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta on Sunday, August 30, 2026, joined Al-Azhar in the annual “Quran Recitation Day,” a global event organized by Al-Azhar that brings Muslims from around the world together to recite the Quran simultaneously in a single day.

The event aims to highlight the importance of the Quran to Muslims and reflect the unity of the Muslim community through recitation and contemplation of its verses, Dar Al-Ifta said.

Dar Al-Ifta’s participation underscores its commitment to the Quran and its support for initiatives that strengthen people’s connection with the holy book and encourage reflection on and adherence to its teachings, it said.

The institution also seeks to use digital platforms to promote sound religious awareness and make religious content available to a wide audience in Egypt and abroad.

Dar Al-Ifta is broadcasting the “Quran Recitation Day” on its official Facebook page, with several of its scholars taking part in the recitation, allowing audiences around the world to listen to the complete recitation and take part remotely.
