Egypt’s Advisor to the Minister of Health for Information Technology Ism Salah revealed on Thursday that the ministry launched a mobile application named “Egypt Hajj – Egyptian Medical Mission” to help Egyptian pilgrims receive health services in Saudi Arabia.
Salah clarified that pilgrims are able to download the application without paying charges and insert their passport and National Identification Card (NID) numbers to activate it.
The application provides several services, including health guidelines and the facilitation of distress request calls to the Egyptian medical mission’s operations. Pilgrims have to follow health guidelines while performing pilgrimage rituals. The app also includes a directory of the mission’s medical clinics in the hotels of Mecca and Medina.
Salah pointed out that the pilgrims will receive notifications and messages on their mobiles in Saudi Arabia after inserting the required data and activating the application.
EgyptAir transferred 74,000 pilgrims to the holy lands via 350 flights for this year’s Hajj, due to take place from August 9 to 14.
Pilgrims will start to return from Jeddah airport on August 14 and Medina airport on August 17 to Cairo.
