Minister of Finance Mohammed Maait announced that the ministry would establish an electronic database in order to modernize the Real Estate taxes project, develop the work system, and utilize electronic measures for Egypt’s various directorates.
Maait explained that the project aims at connecting tax directorates together and easing the payment of due taxes.
He added that the ministry would implement the project in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production from June 2019 until June 2020.
The ministry will examine models, notes and records on what should first be digitized across the country.
Chief of the Real Estate Taxes Authority Samya Hussien said that the minister has developed 150 directorates and modernized new locations for payment of real estate taxes.
Tax payers are allowed to pay for real estate taxes in the Public Treasury Departments, three outlets in Sharm el-Sheikh and Ras Sedr in South Sinai governorate, two outlets in Marsa Matrouh, two outlets in Ain al-Sokhna and one outlet in Borg al-Arab in Alexandria.
