FIFA revealed on Monday its list of the top 10 goalkeepers who participated in the 2026 World Cup finals, which concluded on Sunday with Spain’s victory over Argentina.
Egyptian goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir ranked eighth among all goalkeepers in the tournament.
The Egyptian Football Association celebrated Shobeir’s achievement, noting that out of 145 goalkeepers at the World Cup, he ranked eighth according to FIFA’s official goalkeeper rating, with a rating equal to that of the World Cup winner, Unai Simon, and best goalkeeper of the tournament.
FIFA’s ranking was based on each goalkeeper’s individual performance and saves throughout the tournament.
This ranking is separate from the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper, which was won by Spain’s Unai Simón after conceding only one goal during the tournament.
