Egypt’s Sisi calls King Charles III to offer condolences

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi made a phone call on Saturday evening with the United Kingdom’s King Charles III, the current reigning monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Rady said that President Sisi offered his sincere condolences to King Charles III, the government and the people of Britain on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who he said gave a lot to her people and country over decades.

Sisi wished him and the friendly British people all possible success in the future.

King Charles III thanked President Sisi for this generous gesture, which underscores the peculiarity of the traditional relations between the two friendly countries.

Rady added that the call also discussed issues of common interest, especially those related to climate change, in light of the multiple initiatives sponsored by King Charles III, in addition to Egypt’s expected hosting of the COP27 in November in Sharm el-Sheikh.
