Egypt’s stock market hits highest historical peak ever, gaining LE 16.6 billion

The Egyptian stock exchange ended Sunday’s trading at its highest historical peak ever, with market capital profit totaling LE 16.6 billion and closing at LE 1,256 trillion.

 

Stock indices

The main stock index EGX30 rose during Sunday’s trading by 1.70 percent, recording 18,516 points.

The EGX30 Capped Index rose by 1.49 percent, recording 22,420 points, and the EGX30 TR index increased by 1.66 percent, to record 7,750 points.

 

Stock market performance

The secondary stock index for medium and small companies, EGX70 rose during the trading session by 1.05 percent, hitting 3,741 points.

The broader index, EGX100, increased by 1.13 percent, recording 5,505 points.

The session witnessed an active trading volume of 577 million securities, at a value of two billion LE, through 83,000 transactions, as 107 stocks rose, 38 declined, and 58 remained unchanged.
