The High Elections Commission accepted Tuesday the resignation of former committee secretary general Zaghloul al-Balshy for health reasons, Balshy told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
Balshy had sumbitted his resignation during the constitutional referendum, to undergo eye surgery, and revealed Tuesday that he will be having another operation next month.
In his place, Balshy said that he had nominated Judge Abdel Malek al-Qommos and that the committee had approved his nomination.
