Ethiopia, Sudan agree on holding tripartite meeting over Renaissance Dam

Ethiopian-informed diplomatic sources said on Saturday that Addis Ababa agreed on holding a tripartite meeting between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia to tackle the Renaissance Dam project. Talks are still ongoing over possibility of holding the meeting between Cairo or Khartoum.

Each of Ethiopia and Sudan agreed in principle on holding the preparatory tripartite meeting this month, the sources said, adding that the first meeting is likely to take place in Khartoum.

In remarks to the Anadolu Agency, Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazy said Egypt seeks reaching friendly solution to the issue and holding the meeting soon in order to set the mechanisms of achieving the bilateral statement issued by the Egyptian-Ethiopian Summit last month.
