Extending temporary imprisonment of 14 MB supporters in Omraniya

The imprisonment of 14 alleged supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood was extended 15 more days pending investigation into the case of Omraniya events that left a child dead and 23 others injured.
 
The prosecution also ordered to arrest five other suspects still on the run.
 
Nine of the defendants face the charges of killing the 12-year-old boy Mohamed Zayed, using an automatic weapon, the attempted murder of 23 others, the possession of firearms and ammunition without a license, the disruption of traffic, attacking public and private property and resisting authorities.
 
All defendants denied the charges against them, claiming they were not part of the events and only stopped by to watch. They also denied belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood. 
 
The two defendants accused of killing the child admitted to shooting at security forces when they fired tear gas at them, but said they did not mean to kill the child.
