Extradited Palestinians arrive at Rafah border crossing

The seven Palestinians arrested in Cairo International Airport  on Wednesday en route from Syria arrived at the Rafah border crossing late Friday afternoon after being released from detention.

A source from the border authority said the individuals would be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip after concluding the necessary legal procedures.

The airport authorities released the individuals on Wednesday and began extradition procedures back to Gaza.

Security officials claim the Palestinians were found with photographs and maps of vital state facilities located in the Gaza Strip.

“All plans sketched in the maps, which included assault strategies, IED manufacture, night combat, and checkpoint management, were all part of their work at a Palestinian security agency and are not aimed at Egypt or any other country,” the source explained, without naming the agency to which they belonged.
