Employees at the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Qasr al-Eini Street panicked this morning when Civil Protection authorities received an anonymous report claiming that the ministry’s headquarters would explode within minutes.
Civil Protection and police rushed to the site with police dogs. A search carried out after the building was evacuated found that it did not contain explosives, and the employees returned to work.
The building's evacuation caused traffic to come to a standstill for more than two hours this morning.
