Finance min.: Cars replacement initiative spearheaded in 15 governorates in 2 years

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said the presidential initiative for replacing old cars has been spearheaded in 15 governorates since its launch two years ago.
The 15 governorates are Ismailia, Sharqiya, Beheira, Beni Suef, Sohag, Luxor, Aswan, Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Qaliobiya, Port Said, Suez, the Red Sea, and South Sinai, he said, noting that efforts are underway to cover all governorates.
This falls within the framework of the government’s efforts to realize green transition and promote use of eco-friendly vehicles in various governorates.
In a statement by the Finance Ministry, Maait said the state treasury bore EGP 650 billion green incentives for 26,450 new cars operating by natural gas that were handed over to their owners.
