Minister of Finance Youssef Boutros-Ghali will hold a press conference Monday to shed more light on the ministry’s new initiative, “Citizen Budget”.
On Saturday, Boutros-Ghali said the initiative is part of the government's efforts to enhance citizen participation in economic life. It should give Egyptians a greater role in financial policy making by allowing them to help determine priorities for public expenditure.
He said the initiative comes within the framework of a series of policies aimed at making public expenditure more transparent, in line with international standards.
