Fire on Alexandria-to-Aswan train brought under control

Civil protection troops in Qena province have extinguished a small fire in a railway carriage at Naga Hammadi train station.

The fire, which occured on a train traveling from Alexandria to Aswan, is believed to have started due to an electrical fault.

Qena security services were notified immediately and the fire was extinguished before it spread to other parts of the train. The other carriages were separated from the burning carriage in order to prevent the fire spreading.

No casualties were reported as a result of the incident, and the prosecution has begun investigations.
