FM affirms Egypt’s commitment to enhancing digitization, AI policies

CAIRO, Dec 6 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has underlined Egypt’s commitment to promoting responsible digital transformation and developing policies on artificial intelligence (AI).

The minister’s remarks came during a meeting with Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) Deemah Al Yahya, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum.

Abdelatty praised the organization’s efforts in fostering cooperation among developing countries on technology and digital governance issues.

He highlighted Egypt’s active involvement in digital initiatives across the Arab and African regions, as well as its role as a key partner in shaping multilateral frameworks for digital cooperation, data governance, and AI.

The minister also outlined Egypt’s significant progress in AI, data governance, and digital capacity building, citing the launch of the second phase of the national strategy on AI and the adoption of the open data policy set for 2025.

He also emphasized Egypt’s openness to exploring further cooperation with the organization, particularly in AI, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion. (MENA)
