FM: Egyptian Efforts Continue to Reach Deal on Gaza

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty said on Wednesday 16/4/2025 the humanitarian and medical conditions in the Gaza Strip became “very dangerous” as a result of the Israeli decision to halt aid delivery to the Palestinian enclave.

In a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart Radosław Sikorski, he said the best solution to the problem is to abide by the ceasefire agreement signed on January 19 to achieve a permanent ceasefire and secure the release of all hostages.

He added the Egyptian good offices will continue to release a group of hostages and detainees, a matter that would pave the way for ending the aggression and delivering humanitarian and medical aid to the strip in coordination with brethren in the US and Qatar.

Abdelatty added that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s recent tour of Qatar and Kuwait and his meetings with the leaders of the two Gulf countries were part of Egypt’s non-stop efforts to end the aggression and deliver aid to the Gazans.

Asked by MENA about the role that could be played by the European Union and Poland which is holding the current EU presidency, to apply pressure on Israel to accept the return to the signed ceasefire agreement, the Polish foreign minister said his country backs the two-state solution and does its best to end the crisis.
