FM, his Moroccan counterpart stress depth of historical ties

CAIRO, Aug 22 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received on Friday a phone call from Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco Nasser Bourita.

The contact tackled ways to enhance bilateral relations across various fields, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The two ministers affirmed the depth of the historical and fraternal ties between Egypt and the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco.

They reiterated their commitment to elevating the level of bilateral cooperation in a way that reflects the strength of relations between the two brotherly countries.

They also expressed their shared aspiration to strengthen political consultation mechanisms, boost economic and investment cooperation, and expand cooperation in various sectors, including culture and education, to meet the aspirations of both peoples and promote shared interests.

The ministers also exchanged views on a number of regional issues, foremost among them the developments in the Palestinian cause, as well as the situations in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, and Sudan.

On the African front, they discussed the importance of continuing joint efforts to enhance mechanisms of African joint action, the role of the African Union in addressing the continent’s issues in peace, security, and development, support for Agenda 2063, and efforts to advance the strategic interests of African countries.
