Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held phone calls on Monday, April 27, 2026, with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The calls came in line with presidential directives for exerting efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The discussions addressed the rapidly evolving regional developments and the importance of intensifying efforts to support the US-Iran negotiation track and ongoing attempts to reach a settlement.
The ministers stressed the need to adhere to a negotiating approach and continue efforts to reach understandings among the parties concerned to consolidate a ceasefire, end the war, reduce regional tensions, and ensure freedom of navigation, given the serious repercussions of disruptions on supply chains, international trade, and the global economy.
For his part, Abdelatty reaffirmed that achieving stability requires respect for state sovereignty and consideration of the security concerns of regional countries, particularly the Gulf states, stressing that dialogue remains the only path to peace, security, and stability in the region.
