FM: No irregular migrant boats set out from Egypt’s coasts since 2016

CAIRO, April 9 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that no irregular migrant boats have set out from Egypt’s coasts since launch of migration strategy in 2016 attesting to Egypt’s strenuous efforts on this score.

Delivering a word at the opening session of the second ministerial conference of the Khartoum Process in Cairo on Wednesday, the foreign minister said, Egypt as a country of the South, continues to defend the importance of international cooperation, burden-sharing and promoting development in top sending countries of migrants to address the root causes of migration.

In his word, Abdelatty welcomed the participants in the conference, held in the New Administrative Capital. (MORE)
