FM, Palestinian VP discuss reconciliation efforts, Gaza reconstruction

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Sunday , October 26, 2025, with Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al-Sheikh to discuss ongoing efforts to advance reconciliation among Palestinian factions and unify the Palestinian front at this critical stage, in a manner that strengthens the national stance and serves the higher interests of the Palestinian people.

The two sides reviewed the latest developments on the Palestinian scene within the framework of continued coordination between Egypt and Palestine.

They also discussed preparations for the upcoming Conference on Early Recovery, Reconstruction and Development in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing the necessary international support for recovery and reconstruction efforts to meet the needs of the Palestinian people.

The conversation also touched on the reforms being pursued by the Palestinian Authority and the recent constitutional declaration issued by President Mahmoud Abbas as a step aimed at organizing the next phase and activating the institutions of the Palestinian state.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the Palestinian Authority and its efforts to achieve national unity and reconstruct Gaza, stressing Egypt’s continued commitment to promoting stability and realizing the aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
