
The Egyptian national team climbed three spots in the FIFA rankings after their win against New Zealand in the 2026 World Cup.
Egypt secured the victory against New Zealand in the second round of the group stage of the World Cup, which is hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
The Pharaohs earned 12.70 points after the win, rising to 26th place in the FIFA rankings, a jump of three spots from their previous 29th place ranking with 1583.37 points.
This marks Egypt’s fourth appearance in the World Cup, following a hiatus since their last participation in Russia in 2018.
