Food Industries Chamber backs gov’t plan to boost exports

Chamber of Food Industries (CFI) at the Federation of Egyptian Industries voiced support for government efforts to develop the food processing and agro-industrial sector, describing it as central to economic growth, investment, and export expansion.

The chamber stated that the Ministry of Industry has responded to its call to establish modern industrial complexes near agricultural production areas.

It added that this will reduce waste, increase the value of crops, and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products abroad.

The chamber noted that food exports reached nearly $11 billion last year and that new projects, such as a planned raisin processing facility, will increase product quality and strengthen Egypt’s position in regional and global markets.

It also affirmed that these initiatives will create jobs, support farmers, and stabilize supply chains.

Additionally, the chamber confirmed its continued work with the Ministry of Industry and other stakeholders to expand production, grow exports, and reinforce food security.
