The newly-dispatched German Ambassador to Cairo Julius Georg Luy said Egypt and Germany share strong relations in all fields during a ceremony held Wednesday to celebrate his new post.
The ceremony was organized by the Egyptian-German Friendship Association, which includes a group of intellectuals from both countries.
Head of Egypt's State Information Service Salah Eddin Abdel Sadeq and Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives Mohamed Oraby attended the ceremony.
Luy called for holding events and various activities through the Egyptian-German Friendship Association in order to support stability in Egypt, adding that he recently visited many places in Egypt in Assiut, Luxor, Aswan and Siwa, where he witnessed beautiful Egyptian nature.
Luy arrived in Egypt on August 28, 2015, succeeding Hansjörg Habar.
