Member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s media center, Manar Ghanem, expected a gradual rise in weather temperatures as of Friday and for a week.
Ghanem said, during a phone call to the Egyptian TV Channel One, Thursday evening, that the temperature will rise by 2C to record 36C in Greater Cairo, but the perceived temperature will reach 40C.
She added temperature on the northern coasts will be the most moderate.
A rise in humidity is expected, which increases the feeling of the weather’s heat, as humidity exceeds 85 percent on Greater Cairo, while it reaches 95 percent on the northern coasts.
